Collection: Julia McCray

Julia is a self-taught artist who began in graphite, transitioned into colored pencils, then found the soft pastel medium and fell in love with its luminosity and the direct hand-to-paper connection during application. Eventually adding acrylic painting, acrylic paint pouring, and fabric dyeing to her skills, Julia enjoys exploring new mediums and teaching workshops. Her work can be found in homes and offices across the U.S., including incorporated into the furniture of a local craftsman with whom she frequently collaborates. Since 1991, Julia has participated in several art shows in the region, including: “Art in the Park” (Corry, PA), “Festival in the Forest” (Tionesta, PA), “Expressions – Celebrating Women Artists of the Oil Region” (Titusville, PA), “Nature Art Showcase” (Franklin, PA), “Art on the Allegheny” (Tionesta, PA), and the Corry Area Artists Guild annual show (Corry, PA). She has also exhibited her work at Red Brick Gallery (Foxburg, PA), Graffiti Gallery (Oil City, PA), and was the featured artist in June 2019 at the Ida Tarbell House Museum (Titusville, PA). Julia is a member of the Forest Area Arts Council, the Corry Area Artists Guild, and a plein air painting group based in Oil City, PA. Her artwork is available at Painted Finch Gallery in Corry, PA, and online through her Facebook page @JuliaMcCrayArt.
